Do you like Giacometti? Are you interested in how the artist tries to draw a picture? Do you like the style and atmosphere of Paris in the 1960s?
If your answers are 'Yes', 'Yes', 'Yes', you should go to see "Final Portrait", a new film at Sugai Dinos Cinema in Sapporo. It's not a big dramatic story, it's a small quiet film, with some moments of silence and space to think. And there is some humor too. The leading actor is Geoffrey Rush (from "The King's Speech"), and he does look like the real Alberto Giacometti.
But maybe the best thing in the film is the design of the locations: Giacometti's studio looks just like his studio in the old photographs from the 1960s. If you want to begin the new year 2018 with some culture, this is a really nice film that you might enjoy.
