Don't Miss a Great Documentary Film!

Updated: Jul 27, 2021

Coming to Theatre Kino very soon (opening November 21st), there is a wonderful documentary about the American music label Tamla Motown. Based in Detroit, Michigan, the label was most popular from 1959 to 1972. So many great artists: Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles,

the Temptations, The Four Tops, and the young Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five…

Most of the great songs were written by a team of three men: Lamont Dozier and the two Holland brothers, Brian and Eddie. Their ability to write pop songs was almost on a level with the pop songs written by Lennon and McCartney between 1963 and 1966. In 1971, Tamla Motown also produced the first great anti-war, "we have to save the planet" ecology album: "What's Going On", written and produced by marvelous Marvin Gaye.

This documentary tells an important story of talented Black artists, making music for everyone, not only for Black audiences. Make sure you go to Theatre Kino, to learn more about one of the greatest labels in the history of recorded music.
